In April 2008 The O'Neill Summer School will continue the theme of 'The Flight of The Earls' by participating in the international gathering in Rome to commemorate the arrival of The Earls in that city. The commemorative events will take place between Friday 11th. April and Sunday 13th. April and are being organised by our Chicago Associates and under the auspices of the Embassy of Ireland to Italy and the Embassy of Ireland to the Holy See. A limited number of places will be available to The O'Neill School at a cost of 250 Euro pp.

This amount will include;

A special reception and banquet to be held at The Palazzo Doria Pamphilj on Saturday April 12th. with a tour of the private art gallery.

Attendance at a special Mass in the Church of San Pietro in Montorio on Sunday April 13th. where the Earls are buried; followed by a reception.

A number of other events linked to this special commemoration, with organised visits to various places connected to the Earls stay in the Eternal City.

It is anticipated that most people will be staying in the Vatican area of the city.

Delegates will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and a list of hotels will be shown on this website.
